PRODUCTION OF NATURAL GAS

In the year 2002 natural gas was produced from 18 gas fields, and domestic production covered around 60 percent of total demand. The largest quantities come from gas fields Molve, Kalinovac and Stari Gradec, where Central Gas Plants for gas processing and preparation were built. Their capacities are shown in the following Table.

TRANSPORTATION OF NATURAL GAS

Natural gas transportation energy activity is the primary activity of the PLINACRO d.o.o. company, which has obtained the Licence from Croatian Energy Regulatory Council. The transportation system has been designed for the working pressure of 50 bars, and partially the pressure of 75 bara. At the end of 2002, total length of transport system was 1,637 kilometres with diameters ranging from DN 80 to DN 700. During peak demand the system transports about 540,000 m3/hour.

The system includes 139 metering reduction stations (MRS) with 221 metering points.

Besides, there are around 300 kilometres of technological gas pipeline which are not included in the national transportation system.

DISTRIBUTION OF NATURAL GAS

In the Republic of Croatia, 38 companies have been issues a Licence for energy activity of Natural Gas Distribution. Total length of gas pipeline at the end of 2002 was 14,138 kilometres. Also there are three companies distributing city gas and LPG/air mixture, with the total pipeline length of 377 kilometres. Thus, the total distribution network length is 14,515 kilometres.
