Cooperation with the Croatian State Office for
Standardisation and Metrology
Several Technical Committees are operating under the auspices of the Croatian
State Office for Standardisation and Metrology. Their scope is to assist the Office
in the enactment of standards in different technical areas. Adopted international
and European standards have a great impact on the areas of design, production,
services etc. In general, they facilitate the penetration of Croatian products and
services onto European and international markets.
The experts of the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar participate in the work of several
Technical Committees (DZNM/TO) such as: DZNM/TO E1 - Terminology; DZNM/TO
E8 - Standard Voltages; DZNM/TO E20 - Electrical Cables; DZNM/TO E37 - Surge
Arresters; DZNM/TO E64 - Electrical Installations and Protection Against Electric
Shock; DZNM/TO E77 - Electromagnetic Compatibility, DZNM/TO 81 - Lightning
Protection etc. The result of this cooperation is that many international standards,
some of which have been published in Croatian language, have been adopted in
Croatia. This significantly contributes to the development of Croatian Standardization
and its membership in the European Standards Organizations. It also supports
the technical harmonization of the Republic of Croatia with the European Union.
