The European Commission grants € 2.3 billion to energy projects

 The European Commission has selected 43 major energy projects, which will significantly contribute to the economic recovery in the EU, while increasing our security of energy supply by creating cross-border infrastructure.
The Commission grants € 2.3 billion to 31 gas and 12 electricity projects to be financed by the 2009 and 2010 budget.

Meeting the European energy challenges using non-fossil fuel technologies

 On 18 - 19 February, the EIHP is hosting a Workshop on “Meeting the European energy challenges using non-fossil fuel technologies”, organised by the Institute for Energy of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in the context of its Enlargement and Integration Activity.
This workshop focuses on role of technology innovation for renewable and nuclear energy in meeting the goals of the European energy and climate change policy. [more]
