Renewable Energy Sources and Energy
Efficiency Survey 2003 - Renewable Energy
Sources and Energy Efficiency
The purpose of the survey is to determine public attitude and level of knowledge
in order to be able to develop educational programmes for renewable energy sources
and energy efficiency.
The survey was conducted during 2003 in cooperation with the Department of
Sociology of the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Philosophy and the NGO
Ekoliburnija. It was carried out in the city of Rijeka on a random sample consisting
of 600 persons, and in Zagreb on a random sample consisting of 900 persons.
The results showed indubitable public support to the use of renewable energy
sources, even in the case of their higher cost. However, the survey also showed
a relatively low level of public knowledge and information on the subject.
