Opportunities For the Marketing and Financing
of a Gas Transport Corridor Towards South
Eastern Europe
The project analyses possibilities for expanding the existing transport capacity
between Austria, Slovenia and Croatia (TAG/SOL/M1 system) and, potentially, other
South-East European countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro).
Within the Trans European Network - TEN f17 project, the Energy Institute Hrvoje
Požar elaborated marketing and technical studies which aim to determine future
demand for natural gas and the possibilities for its supply within the region. Geographically,
the studies covered Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, and Bosnia and
Herzegovina. Among else, an expert assessment and review of existing official
natural gas demand forecasts for individual countries was conducted. In addition,
an analysis of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy consumption in the year 2000 was
performed, and a detailed forecast until 2020 was calculated.
