Project 020101 PROHES - Development and Organisation of the Croatian Energy Sector
(1996 - 2002)
Project activities involved the analysis of present conditions and relations within
the energy sector and its sub-sectors, potential development scenarios and the
organisation of the energy sector. In addition, the project analysed management
practices within the energy sector, its impact on the country’s economic development,
and environmental aspects of energy sector development. The project presented
potential solutions to problems inherent within the above. The proposed
solutions were founded on modern scientific knowledge.
Twelve National Energy Programmes were initiated under the framework of the research
and scientific project Planning and Organisation of the Croatian Energy Sector
(PROHES). Activities on the project and the successful completion of the first phase
of work on the National Energy Programmes resulted with the elaboration of the
Energy Sector Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia in 1998.
