Project 02001001 - National Energy
Programmes (2002 - )
The goals of the project are to improve existing and introduce new and advanced
technologies into the Croatian energy system, utilise renewable energy sources
and increase energy efficiency.
This project instigated research into different new and specific areas with the aim
to fully and completely implement the National Energy Programmes. These areas
include gas network development; cogeneration of heat and electricity; an industrial
energy efficiency network; the construction of small hydropower facilities;
the utilisation of solar, wind, and geothermal energy; the use of energy from biomass
and waste; energy efficiency in buildings, transport and centralised thermal
systems; and the development of the energy system on Croatian islands.
